Here’s a trio of mini tags that I made recently –

I used old product packaging for the body of the tags. Before I cut the packaging, I used acrylics and a brayer on a gel plate and smooshed the packaging over it. I then used a stencil and acrylics with the gel plate to get some positive and negative prints on the packaging.
Following this, I applied some modeling paste through a stencil onto the packaging. I then brushed some metallic acrylics over it and spritzed water on it. This look didn’t appeal to me much, so I ended up dry brushing some gesso over it. I then added splotches of white acrylic and made some black acrylic splatters.

Meanwhile, I also made the focal hearts. I roughly applied orange + yellow and green + yellow acrylics on separate pieces of paper using my finger. After they dried, I drew two sets of 3 hearts each–one set smaller than the other. I used a Copic marker to trace the heart outlines, and fussy cut them.
For the quote, I used a stamp with dye ink, cut around the words, and traced the edges with a fineliner. I then cut the packaging background into tags, added eyelet holes, and inked distress ink along the tag edges. Finally, I adhered hand-torn previously gel-printed scraps, the hearts, and the quote. Ta da!
With this project, I’m joining these challenges –

Thank you so much, Deb! It’s satisfying to pick and choose (and use) from my stash; even more so if I find a long-unused item that fits the project! 🙂
