Here’s a recent art journal page of mine –

I made this on tea-dyed copy paper page that I’ve included in my journal. I started my session with some fun gel printing. I smooshed acrylics onto the plate and transferred them to the page; I used stencils and acrylics on gel plates to transfer negatives & ghost prints onto the page; I also used the brayer that I used to spread my paint for some additional texture on the paper.
I then tried out a new-to-me supply–soft pastels. I experimented with smudging them using a brush, and tried out some water spritzing with them as well. This took away a lot of pastel pigment that was on the paper, so I stopped for the time being.

I pounced some acrylics through stencils onto the paper, and then ran gel pens roughly inside the stencil shapes. I also made haphazard Copic marker lines connecting some of the shapes.
For the focal flower, I adhered a die-cut shape to the page. I outlined the shape using a water-based marker outline, which I diluted using a brush dipped in water. I then reinforced the outline with a Copic marker. I then fussy cut a pre-printed quote, ran a Copic marker at the edges of the shapes, and adhered them to the page. That completed the page. Ta da!
With this page, I’m joining these challenges –

Thank you, E.C.! I don’t plan out the session, and I only start thinking of quotes at the very end, so it’s my quotes that end up having to complement my art. š

Thank you so much, Aimeslee! š The quote is inspiring indeed, and I find I want to use it every time I make a flower.
