[Challenge win: Top rocker at 613 Avenue Create challenge]
[Challenge win: Designer spotlight at Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge]
Looks like I can’t have enough of this message these days. 🙂 Here’s a recent art journal page of mine that reflects the sentiment –
I started this spread by making a ghost print using my gel plate, some acrylics, and a stencil. Over this, I used a stencil with distress ink, and added some black fineliner outlines to the stenciled areas. I then stamped some marks using dye ink, followed by stenciling text using acrylics.
For the focal birdie, I used a different piece of paper. I first stamped the bird using archival ink, which I reinforced with a fineliner. I then hand-drew a branch using fineliner. I colored both the birdie and the branch using watercolor pencils and a water brush pen.
I fussy cut both components, then added some white acrylic paint to the background since it was pretty busy. I adhered the components to the background. I made some glints on the birdie’s eyes using white gel pen, and applied watercolor pencils with water brush pen at its edges.
I used a printed quote for the sentiment, and applied a black water-based marker at its edges before sticking it on the page. Finally, I added some black acrylic splatters and fineliner marks. That completed the page. Ta da!
With this page, I’m joining these challenges –
