[Challenge win: Top Rocker at 613 Avenue Create challenge]
Here’s a recent, quick art journal spread of mine –

I made this spread on pages that I’d used tea to dye, which gives them a brownish tinge.
I started out with some gel plate fun. I used acrylics with a stencil to fill up the page with circle shapes. I then used the gel plate again with white acrylics at the edges of the spread.

I then made a central split using black acrylics; I applied them on a scrap card and ran the card along the center, giving it occasional little twists for some dense foliage. I then added mirrored sketches of trees using a black fineliner.
For the quote, I fussy cut a printed message and adhered it over the background. I added light coloring using watercolors, and some fineliner outlines. Ta da!
With this spread, I’m joining these challenges –
Wow, great journal pages and use of the gel plate. The colors are beautiful and love the reflection images. Thanks for sharing at 613 Avenue Create’s July, “Anything Goes with a Twist/Black & White” Challenge.
