Here’s a recent quick art journal spread of mine –

For the background of this spread, I started out by applying acrylic paints on it using a brayer. I then smooshed more acrylics by applying them over a gel plate and pressing the paper over it.
I then stamped insect images and scripty writing around the page using dye inks–I also spritzed some water at times before I stamped.

For the quote, I hand-tore a piece of paper, inked its edges with distress ink, and used dye ink to stamp the sentiment. I crumpled the paper to enhance the distressed look, and adhered it to the page.
To complete the spread, I pounced a small amount of acrylics at the edges of the page, and added marks and borders using Copic markers. Ta da!
With this spread, I’m joining these challenges:
Wonderful textures and colors.
The quote is perfect and so very true.

Beautiful! I don’t like real bugs but love them on paper and in a collage. Love the quote, too.

I too love paper prints with bugs! Stamping them myself is the next best thing. 🙂
