[Challenge win: Winner at Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge]
Here’s a recent art journal spread of mine –

I made this spread on kraft paper. I started out by using a gel plate to make some acrylics background using stencils. I followed that with acrylics drips, then more acrylics pounced through a stencil.
To this, I added some gesso streaks, followed by white acrylics through stencils. I also used a fineliner to scribble some asemic writing on the white-streaked areas.
For the focal image, I used a different piece of paper. I drew the image outlines using my non-dominant hand, then used a fineliner to trace the outlines.

I added color to the image using watercolor pencils with a water brush pen, then followed it with more subtle shading using oil-based pencils. I fussy cut the images and adhered them to the page, then added some additional interest using dye inks with a stamp.
I stamped the quote using archival ink, then fussy cut it. After that, I inked the edges using distress ink, and adhered the quote to the page.
To finish the page, I added some shadowing around the focal image and the quote with a watercolor pencil and a water brush pen. Ta da!
With this spread, I’m joining these challenges –
Very unique design. So many different mediums on this too. Great that you were able to draw these images with your non dominant hand. Thanks for sharing at 613 Avenue Create’s June, “Anything Goes with a Twist/Tag” Challenge.

Thanks, Vicki! The non-dominant hand trick helps me avoid fussing around trying to get the images ‘right’. 🙂

It can be pretty clever when the dominant hand has its (metaphorical) back! 🙂
