Here’s a recent art journal spread of mine –
I made the background on pages with leftovers from a previous art journaling session. I added quick brushes of acrylics first, which I followed with pouncing more acrylics over a single stencil that I moved around.
Over this background, I used stamps with dye inks. At the edges, I again pounced some acrylics (without any stencil this time), and then used a Copic marker for a striped pattern.
I made the focal birdies on a different piece of paper. I used stamps with dye inks for the initial outline, and colored them using watercolor pencils with a water brush pen. I then fussy cut them and adhered them onto the spread. I also added some gel pen shadows to them.
I then stamped the quotes with dye inks, fussy cut them, and roughly traced a water-based marker at the edges of each strip before adhering them beside each bird. That completes the spread, ta da!
With this spread, I’m joining these challenges –
