Here’s a recent art journal spread of mine –

I started the spread with a background, by pouncing acrylics over a stencil. I also used a bit of stamping using dye inks over this, and added some quick acrylics brush strokes.
For the focal image, I used a die over multiple layers of paper. I adhered all the diecuts to one another, then stuck the final piece over the background.

I then started doodling in the nooks and recessed areas using a gel pen. This was a lot of meditative fun! The overall effect reminds me of henna designs.
I finally stamped a sentiment along one of the edges using foam alphabet stamps and dye inks, and made dotted marks with a gel pen, following the contours of the letters. And that completed the spread. Ta da!
With this spread, I’m joining these challenges –
Anita, it’s a true beauty. It’s a pure delight to look at your creation. Just beautiful!!!

Thank you, Regina Mary! I wasn’t thinking about the ‘big picture’ while doodling each component, but it did turn out okay in the end.

Another beautiful page! The doodling around the die cut really adds so much to the design! I love it!
