It’s Inspiration Station time again! (This is where my sister and I throw themes at each other for inspiration, and make art.) It’s been a while since our previous post, but I’m glad we’re still on.

This time’s theme is from my sister, and she came up with a number of items to pick and choose:

Gosh, she has really made this image look good!

Let me see, I’ve used –

• Blue
• Altenew Adore You stamp set
• Carabelle Studio stencils
• Dylusions stencils
• Doodle

I thought this would be my chance to try out some gold embossing, but I guess it wasn’t on the cards this time. This is the art journal spread I made –

I started on the background of the spread with gel printing using blue acrylics and a Carabelle Studio stencil. I then used a Dylusions stencil to pounce some red along the edges. I also brushed a thin layer of water and made some acrylics splatters over it, though they’re not very visible.

For the focal flowers, I used the Altenew stamp set with a light-colored dye ink. I fussy cut the flowers and adhered them to the spread. Then, I made some Zentangle-inspired doodles on the flowers with colors that I felt worked well with the background and the border. I added slight shading with oil-based pencils.

For the quote, I used a stamp with dye inks. I fussy cut the phrases and used a watercolor pencil with a water brush pen at the edges, then adhered them onto the background. I then added tiny circle doodles to compensate for the invisibility of the acrylics splatters.

And that completes the spread, ta da!
