Butterflies, Moths, and Adventure

I made a mini art journal spread recently. I go to my pocket-sized handmade mini journal when my creative juices aren’t flowing freely, and working on a small area which already has a background created on it is much easier than staring blankly at a larger page.

I’d created the background using stencils and a gel plate with acrylics. However, with all the foreground components, the background is hardly visible. 🙂

For the foreground, I used stamps with dye inks in shades of blue-green + brown. I thought of using watercolors on the butterfly, but felt that it works better with the overall feel of this spread just as it currently is. So that completed the spread. Ta da!

With this spread, I’m joining these challenges –
