[Challenge win: Top rocker at 613 Avenue Create challenge]
It’s Monday, and I’m happy to be back for another week in the Designer Spotlight on Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! And as always, it’s a pleasure and an honor to have been invited along for the ride this month.
This week, the challenge is: On A Roll. That includes anything featuring wheels.
For my project, I made an ATC.
I’d actually intended to make an ATC trio, so I started out with a long sheet of paper for the background. I added metallic acrylics over a gel plate and spritzed water over it, over which I smooshed the paper. I followed this with the same technique with ordinary acrylics.

I then cut the paper into three ATCs, on which I used various border stamps with black archival ink. I also adhered patterned paper strips over the backgrounds.
At this point, one of the paper pieces magically disappeared. I searched high and low for it, but there was simply no trace of it. I really liked the look of the project thus far, so I decided to make just one ATC, and reuse the other at a later time.

I stamped the car, the buildings, and the sentiment using archival and dye inks, and colored them using watercolor pencils with water. I fussy cut the pieces, stuck some cardboard behind them, and adhered the pieces over the ATC.
To finish the ATC, I added a more grungey look to the background by using some watercoloring at the edges, and a bit of stamping around the focal pieces. Ta da!

As for your magical disappearance, I already had a few of them… the weirdest, a brand new Distress reinker. Never saw it again π²
