Time flies… Or rather, I wish it did. This year seems to be progressing a bit too slowly for my liking. However, time does fly at least when I’m immersed in crafty pursuits! So here’s another art journal spread of mine that I hope reminds me of that fact.
For this spread, I used stencils with different acrylics, employing paint-lifting and pouncing. I’ve not really been able to find too many ways of using a gears stencil by itself, so I’ll need to figure this out sometime in the future, I guess. I then stamped various plant, flourish, and script impressions on this background.
I stamped the birdie on a different piece of paper, and used watercolors to apply random colors on it. I fussy cut it and glued it on as the focal object. I then scribbled over the birdie as well as stamped objects on the background with a fineliner and a Posca marker. I’m beginning to love scribbles!
I then handwrote a quote over the background using gel pens, outlining the letters with a fineliner. I used a oil-based marker to add dotted marks – I love the glossiness of the marks (though I can never capture that in my photos.) I darkened the edge using watercolor pencils and a water brush pen. That completed the spread. Ta da!
With this spread, I’m joining these challenges –
