[Challenge win: Favorite at Happy Little Stampers ATC challenge]
I made my first ATC (Artist Trading Card)!
ATCs have specific measurements, so I cut out a card of the required dimensions. I mostly watercolored on it, using die cut stencils for margins. I did make mistakes, but mistakes on my art journey have taught me to embrace them while I figure out how I can do better next time. 🙂
I started out by applying white gesso to make color blending easier. I made the background blue at the top, and moved down to the brown. Once that dried, I cut out a couple of die-cut stencils for the trees, and added watercolors in light & dark greens and a bit of black. The color did spread out below one of the stencils, so I just treated it as another tree in the treescape. 😉
I continued working on the sky and added some white as well. I then outlined the trees and added some light shading with fineliners.
Finally, I double-cut the earlier tree shapes using the same dies, and glued them on to form highlights for the trees. I also double-cut some arcs using circle dies, and used them as clouds. I added a couple of bird outlines to complete the scenery, and then stamped ‘Adventure’ on it. Ta-da!

The card was fun to create, but I don’t think I’ll actually trade it. 🙂 Instead, I’m submitting it to the following challenges:
